Some of the Department of Defense (DoD)-related projects AgileCast is currently supporting are described below.
Joint Recovery and Distribution System (JRaDS). AgileCast is working with the Government (Tank and Automotive Command and Combined Arms Support Command), Boeing Advanced Mobility Interface Systems, and AES for a proposed Fiscal Year 2009 Joint Capability Technology Demonstrator (JCTD). The austere-port opening, intermodal logistics transfer, forward distribution, and tactical-vehicle recovery capabilities to be demonstrated are embraced by the "Joint Recovery and Distribution System (JRaDS)." AgileCast will shoulder lead responsibility for CONOP/TTP development, experimentation and demonstration planning, and operational and business-case analysis.
Boeing Laser & Electro-Optical Systems (L&EOS) Directed Energy Experimentation. AgileCast provides CONOP-development and Joint Wargaming support to L&EOS as part of Military Utility Assessment for the Boeing/SOCOM Advanced Concept technology Demonstration (ACTD) for the Advanced Tactical laser (ATL).
Nothrop-Grumman Space Technology (Directed Energy). We currently support Northrop Grumman with CONOP-development, experimentation, and requirements definition for solid-state laser weapon systems.
Carter Aviation Slowed-Rotor Composite Air Vehicle (SRCAV). We are teamed with Carter, General Dynamics, Geneva Airspace, Sierra Nevada, Georgia Tech, and Blue Mountain Avionics for concept-development, experimentation, system engineering, and DoD interface. Carter's suite of manned and unmanned air vehicles promise to revolutionize rotary-wing aviation. AgileCast presently is working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS, CENTCOM J8/S&T, and the Army’s applied Aviation Technology Directorate (AATD) to demonstrate and produce high-performance unmanned systems to support Current and Future Joint Force operations.
Airborne Persistent System ("Dynalifter"). We continue working with USJFCOM J9 and USAF/XP (Future Technologies) on behalf of a consortium of small businesses, including Ohio Airships and Carter Aviation Technologies. The intent is to conduct 12-18 months experimentation with a hybrid-aircraft solution for Alternative Basing while addressing the Nation's critical shortfall of ultra-heavy airlift for force projection and sustainment. The Air Force vision for the Objective Aircraft System is one of high-altitude, long-endurance reconnaissance, command-and-control, and precision strike.
Army FCS Brigade Combat Team Technologies/Air & Missile Defense Battle Lab Directed Energy Experimentation. AgileCast is teamed with the Army's Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), the Air and Missile Defense Battle Lab (AMDBL), and CAS, Inc. for a funded 3-year intensive investigation of directed-energy technologies to support the first-unit equipped (and/or follow-on) Future Combat Systems Brigade Combat Team (BCT). AgileCast is tasked with design, execution, and operational analysis of multiple Directed Energy Wargames with the Army War College's Transformation Elective and the elite School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS). Those events assist with analysis of Joint Task Force directed-energy shaping capabilities to protect the BCT during forcible, early-entry, and sustainment operations. AgileCast further assists with technical integration of modeling and simulation tools to support the OneSAF Test Bed (OTB) integration of DE capabilities into Army and Joint force-on-force experiments.
Boeing Phantom Works (Airlift & Tankers) Pulsed-Ejector Thrust Augmentor (PETA). AgileCast is providing consulting and small-business teammate CONOP-development and experimentation support to Boeing and Pratt-Whitney for a proposed DARPA-sponsored solicitation of pulse-jet technologies to support Distributed Battlespace Operations and Precision Re-Supply Operations.
